Bala Shark (Balantiocheilus melanopterus)
Remarks: Bala Sharks (Balantiocheilus melanopterus) are large, peaceful cyprinids from Borneo. They have silver bodies with black fins and a long torpedo body. They are compatible with most medium to large sized fish including Acara, Severums, Silver Dollars, and others. As this is a very large, active, schooling species, they need to be kept in tanks at least 300 gallons or better yet, a pond.
Ā Due to how large this species gets and there being few aquarists that have tanks large enough to house them, we no longer carry this species.
