Ngara Flametail Peacock
Remarks: The Ngara flametails, also known as Grant's peacocks, are found throughout Lake Malawi and exhibit a wide variety of appearances, at least in males. They get their first common name from the bright orange caudal fin that bleeds into the body of the male. The second comes from a well-known fish exporter, Stuart M. Grant. Females typically remain gray or tan but can occasionally take on a little color.Ā In the wild, these fish can be found on the edges of the rocky where males set up territories around rock piles so imitating this environment will aid in attempts to breed them.
