Snakeskin Barb
Remarks: Snakeskin or Rhombo BarbsĀ are medium-sized cyprinids from Borneo. They have deep red bodies with blue-green "snakeskin" markings along their flanks. They look best in a planted blackwater tank, but will fit nicely in most community tanks. As a small species, they require cover in the form of driftwood, leaf litter, and plants.Ā
If kept in small numbers, it is likely for this fish to become stressed and nip the fins of tankmates. The best way to prevent this is to keep them in groups of 6 or more so they are preoccupied with displaying and sparring rather than harassing other species.
